About Us

Travel the ''Yellowstone Trail'' in Hudson and St. Croix County. The Yellowstone Trail was the first transcontinental road that ran from Plymouth Rock to Puget Sound in the era before numbered roads and maps. With the growth of the automobile industry the need for paved roads, not just muddy unconnected dirt roads, were being demanded by private citizens. The Yellowstone Trail Association grew out of this need and was the first group to create a transcontinental route through the upper tier of the United States. By 1919, the entire route was established. In Wisconsin, the route ran from Kenosha to Hudson for 409 miles.
