Capital Campaign Coordinator
The Friends of Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to enhance the parks’ natural environment and engage visitors through recreation, education, and conservation.
We are searching for a resourceful, energetic, and resolute individual to serve as our Capital Campaign Coordinator. The position will support fundraising to construct a new, replacement, nature center building at Willow River State Park. The coordinator position is responsible for raising awareness of our organization and the impact this organization has on Willow River and Kinnickinnic State Parks and the surrounding community.
This position is based at Willow River State Park, Hudson, Wisconsin with a requirement to work at least two days in the office with additional time worked in the field and from home. Activities will require some evening and weekend availability, as well as occasionally working outdoors in various weather conditions.

Position Description:
The Capital Campaign Coordinator will lead and coordinate the implementation and management of a multi-year capital campaign to fund construction of a new nature center facility at Willow River State Park. This position requires an experienced, self-starting fundraising professional who will ensure alignment of capital fundraising strategies and capital funding goals.This position is based at Willow River State Park, Hudson, Wisconsin with a requirement to work at least two days in the office with additional time worked in the field and from home. Activities will require some evening and weekend availability, as well as occasionally working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Candidate Profile:
A strong candidate for the Capital Campaign Coordinator position is organized, self-checking, and detail oriented. The candidate should be ready to take ownership over the development support systems, including completing tasks, making process improvements, and keeping others on track. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude and commitment to the Friends’ mission.Responsibilities:
Leadership and Coordination:- Work with the Capital Campaign Committee to develop and implement a detailed capital campaign plan, timeline, and milestones.
- Coordinate campaign meetings, including scheduling, preparing materials, and follow-up.
- Recruit, coordinate, and engage campaign volunteers who will assist with campaign activities.
- Prepare campaign materials, presentations, and reports as needed.
Donor Engagement and Communications:
- Working with the Capital Campaign Committee, identify and request donations from individual donors, corporate and local business donors, community and family foundations, and government entities.
- Participate in the development of grant proposals.
- Develop and manage marketing communication to build awareness; to include social media, solicitation letters, proposals, acknowledgments, and reports.
- Assist in donor stewardship, ensuring proper recognition and ongoing relationship cultivation.
- Establish and maintain donor relationships and ensure accurate donor records. Track new and existing donor relationships and campaign progress using online donor management systems.
Event Planning
- Collaborate with the Capital Campaign Committee to coordinate campaign-related events, such as donor receptions, site visits, and recognition events.
- Ensure events align with campaign goals and effectively engage stakeholders.
Administrative Duties
- Understand and manage campaign activities to meet budget guidelines.
- Track and acknowledge campaign pledges, gifts, and donor activity, ensuring accurate reporting and accountability.
- Generate monthly reports to update leadership on campaign progress and outcomes.
- Handle campaign correspondence and ensure timely follow-up on all inquiries.
The successful candidate will be able to document:
- Achievements in fundraising and development coordination.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, Digital Marketing, and online Donor Management systems.
- Excellent writing, editing, verbal communication, and public presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work with nonprofit boards and volunteers.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Compensation:
Annual wage starting at $56,000, negotiable based upon qualifications and experience.Application Process:
